All Original and Limited Edition Works of Art
now Exempt from Rhode Island Sales Tax
The ACA, in collaboration with Discover Newport, hosted Randall Rosenbaum, Executive Director of the RI State Council on the Arts and Senator M. Teresa Pavia Weed who provided details regarding a landmark program for RI artists. Rhode Island is the first state in the nation to establish a statewide sales tax exemption on sales of original and limited edition works of art!

• In order to begin the process of applying for the tax exemption, artists and art spaces must first register for a sales tax permit and pay the required $10 fee. To access this registration form, click here

Use the STATE OF THE ARTS signage at galleries, boutiques and studios throughout Rhode Island to show works of art are TAX FREE.
