President Terry Dickinson honored the Tiverton Four Corners Arts creator on celebration of their 20 anniversary – here is what he had to say
“Tonight we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Tiverton Four Corners Arts Center, founded in 1993 to promote the arts in Tiverton and the surrounding communities. Tiverton Four Corners is a New England village offering residents and visitors alike an opportunity to experience a wonderful collection of historic houses dating back to the 1700’s, a variety of quaint shops showcasing antiques, fine arts and decorative crafts, and the chance to enjoy delicious treats along the way.
And if all that were not enough Tiverton’s Four Corners hosts a vibrant year-round arts center where those blessed with artistic talent, be it in the form of poetry, prose, sculpture, photography dance, film or music can find a fitting venue to share their artistic creations with all of us.
Many people dream of things they wish could be so, but only a few take the dream and turn it into a vision, a vision that serves as a call to action. We are blessed to have two such visionaries, James and Rosalind Weir, as residents of Newport County. As the owners of Tiverton Four Corners James and Rosalind Weir have devoted many years of hard work and effort to making Tiverton Four Corners a place that celebrates the arts, while preserving an important part of America’s heritage, a special place we can all take pride in.
On this the 20th anniversary of the Tiverton Four Corners Arts Center we extend our sincere thanks and best wishes to James and Rosalind Weir and we applaud their fine work.
I would now like to introduce Rhode Island State Senator Louis P. Dipalma, a resident of Newport County and a strong supporter of the arts to offer his congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Weir.”
