Arts Around the Fire will continue across Bellevue Avenue at Griswolds to meet Mollie and congregate with other artists and patrons from 6-8pm.
Arts Around the Fire is an opportunity for artists, writers, performers and audiences to engage with colleagues about events and accomplishments in the Newport County cultural community and learn about new ideas and good work being done.
Arts Around the Fire features a cash bar, complimentary hors d’oeuvres donated by Griswolds and an informal atmosphere where artists and art lovers can connect.  The Alliance thanks Griswolds and the Newport Art Museum for their hospitality.

Newport’s Arts and Cultural Alliance’s monthly networking event, Arts Around the Fire, starts a new year of communication and creative exchange on Tuesday, January 17th from 6-8pm at Salvation Café’s Post & Beam room at 140 Broadway in Newport.  The Alliance’s guest will be Ruth Taylor, Executive Director of the Newport Historical Society.  Join Ruth to talk about what history is good for, whether anyone cares, and why you might want to, particularly right now.  Learn more about how the NHS talks about history to the public, and why.

The new season of Arts and Cultural Alliance’s monthly networking event, Arts Around the Fire, begins with Josh Short, Founding Artistic Director of The Wilbury Group and director of the Providence Fringe Festival.  Josh will discuss his plans to develop an offshoot of the Festival in Newport. Find out how you can participate and help introduce Josh Short to Newport’s arts community.

March 2016 Arts Around the Fire

Tanya Kelley, member of the Newport Spring Leadership Committee, talked about the project to redesign the intersection behind the Colony House where Newport’s original spring is marked. The Committee is seeking ideas for the future of the site and hopes to enlist the arts community in visualizing the space in new ways. http://www.historicnewportspring.org.
