SPLASH October 2015

50th Anniversary of the National Endowment of the ArtsARTS & HUMANITIES MONTH
Now this is something special! October, Arts & Humanities Month, marks the 50th Anniversary of the National Endowment of the Arts. It was back in 1960 that thanks to the efforts of our beloved six term senator Claiborne Pell, President Lyndon Johnson signed legislation creating the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) as separate, independent agencies. The Washington Post called the creation of the endowments “a momentous step.”

Celebrate this momentous occasion with the ACA this month with a raft of arts related activities. Read on!
