The Arts & Cultural Alliance in collaboration with The Preservation Society of Newport County, will present “The Magic of Branding,” an informational seminar, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 1 pm to 2 pm at The Preservation Society of Newport County, 424 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI. The workshop is free and open to practicing artists & craftspeople in Newport County. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
The Magic of Branding
A brand is so much more than just a pretty design. It identifies your business, products and services, and sets you apart from the competition. It embodies the mission of your business and let’s your customers know who you are.
There is no magic in creating a brand, but it does take knowledge and consistency to guide you to a truly successful brand. For instance, in creating your logo, why choose a particular shape, color or font for your specific business or craft? Once the design is created, how is ownership determined? How do you protect your brand from potential infringement? And finally, once the brand is yours, what do you do with it? What is the best way to build that brand recognition?
With over 30 years of graphic design experience, Tom Roskelly has been creating memorable brands for companies and products throughout the U.S., Canada & Europe. Diane M. Chubb, Esq. has over 14 years of experience in intellectual property law, primarily in trademark and copyright law, working both in-house and for a large law firm. Tom and Diane have worked with clients of all sizes to create and cultivate successful brands. Together, they will provide an educational, and often amusing, journey into the world of branding.
